Seeking Volunteers to Tutor

Our volunteers are what allows Sinkinson Dyslexia Foundation to change the lives of the families that are struggling with dyslexia.

Following the review of an application, approved tutors participate in group training to learn about dyslexia and the program that SDF uses to teach children with dyslexia.  Additional individualized training is conducted with the volunteer to better prepare them to work with their matched student.  Additional training and guidance is provided to the tutor throughout the students time at SDF.

Our tutors are asked to commit to one child, however volunteers may tutor more than one, on a regular basis, for at least one hour a week. Tutoring will continue as long as the student requires instruction, averaging 60 hours total but not to exceed 100 hours.  At the time that a student graduates from SDF many of our tutors elect to work with a new student.

Can you volunteer one hour a week?

Does the educational field interest you?

Would you like to change the life of an adult or child?

Would you like to learn how to teach a child how to read?

If yes, then apply today!   Download the forms below or contact us to have a hard copy mailed to you.
